Payton Vogt

During the summer of July 2010 I sponsored 3 other artists to do an exhibition. The exhibition was created to gain exposure to emerging artists in the south slave region. It was held for one month at the Northern Life Museum in Fort Smith, NWT. One of the artists I celebrated was a young aboriginal chalk painter (Payton Vogt) who created abstract works of the land and aurora borealis using chalk and foamcore.

He drew each piece with his fingers and created the works of art that you see above. He said that the aurora borealis work he created was especially inspired by my own work with the aurora. I wanted to continue to support his creation of his work, so I helped him create reproductions of his original chalk paintings which you can buy directly from him via my site.
