Karl (King of The Aurora) Johnston is a photographer based in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Focusing on the aurora borealis, he seeks to show the world how beautiful and unique the displays of northern lights can be with his high quality fine art.

When I am out there I am not seeking to record a rare phenomena but to create an autobiography of the land. My work with the legendary Aurora Borealis showcases the unique personality of the aurora as she dances across the sub-arctic skies sometimes for miles and miles. 

Every display is unique; although he has seen hundreds and hundreds of aurora displays..never does he tire of them.
